In cooperation with Motorcycles of Charlotte, Apex Cycle Education is excited to announce that it is offering on-street and dual-sport experiences during Motorcycles of Charlotte's 2018 Spring Rally weekend.

The Dual-Sport experience will be available ONLY at the Motorcycles of Charlotte Spring Rally. It will include both asphalt as well as some unimproved road surfaces, e.g. dirt and gravel park access roads, or roadways that have been abandoned – large chunks of asphalt broken or missing altogether (approximately 70% asphalt; 30% unimproved roadways).

This Should Not be construed as an adventure ride – NO stream crossings, single-tracking, rock scrambles, etc. Rather an opportunity to stand on your pegs, and understand how your vehicle responds when traction is substantially reduced. Use this understanding to deploy handling skills that can make for a safer, more enjoyable ride. Riding will begin and end at the Iron Horse Motorcycle Lodge and Resort.

In cooperation with Morton's BMW, Apex Cycle Education is excited to announce that we are offering an on-street training class on Saturday, during Morton's BMW Spring Fling Weekend. Riding will begin and end at the Natural Bridge Hotel.

Apex's Advanced Cycle Training (ACT) class will last approximately four hours and is currently limited to a maximum of three riders with one instructor. This program allows riders to further hone their skills by combining advanced riding techniques along with key strategies in a real-world, on-road environment. Customers will be coached in real time by expert instructors using one-way radios (provided by Apex). This training curriculum enables riders to immediately apply techniques that will sharpen their motorcycle handling skills,.as well as implement critical visual strategies. In other words, learning how to scan and read the road ahead while paying attention to what is going on all around -- 360 degree awareness.

The Pace will be set by the least aggressive riders, since the focus of both programs is to provide an efficient way to learn new skills, understand potentially unsafe habits, and offer fundamental strategies that avoid crashing – it is not about speed. The ultimate goal is to engage riders in an effort that avoids crashes. Through example, your instructors will demonstrate these principles and techniques.

  • Classes will be conducted rain or shine.
  • Passengers are NOT allowed.
  • Enjoy an optional, post-ride video of your riding experience.
